Flip Back a Few Years And You'll Recall The Entire Yard Was Reseeded After Replacing the Driveway.
Unfortunately, the Majority of the Top Soil in the Back Washed Away Because We Didn't Have Adequate Sun to Keep the Grass.
So We Had The Trees Trimmed, And...
... the Neighbor Took Down a Large Tree That Was Shading Much of the Back.
Fall is a GREAT Time to Grow Grass, So...
... We Thought We'd Give It Another Try!
This is the First 10 Cubic Yards of Top Soil.
We Were Able to Get Most of it Moved Before The 2nd Load Arrived.
The Driver Was Very Helpful in Making Sure the Load Was Properly Placed on the Driveway.
Here Comes the Back Ache!
He Also Brought The Additional Supplies - Which Turned Out to be Insufficient for Our Job!
The 2nd Load Was Not Enough, So We Ordered a 3rd (And Could Have Used a 4th But We Were DONE!).
We Had Large Mole Hills Everywhere, Because...
... The First Objective Was to Get It Off The Driveway.
Anita Built Up Her Feeding Area Too.
We Borrowed The Neighbor's Large Wheel Barrow. Helped Move Dirt Quickly But Weighed Much More Than Ours When Full.
Enjoying a Break With Anita During the Project.
We Were Up Until 1:00 AM The 2nd Day Spreading Top Soil, Then...
... Our Friend Mel Mittermiller Came Out to Help Me Seed & Straw.
The Spot In The Front Covers The Sunken Ditch for the New Water Main.
We Got The Seed Down Before The Leaves Fall, And...
... We Were Fortunate to Get a Week of Rain!
Anita Started Placing Pine Straw Around the Landscaping.
The Grade of the Yard Looks Good, And...
... So Does The New Grass - Thanx Mel!
We'll Let It Grow Until It Seeds, Then...
... We'll Pick Out The Leaves by Hand (YUCK) and Cut It For The First Time.
I'll Post More Photos As The Growing Season Progresses - Come Back!
